Christopher Kane has collaborated with his mentor, Donatella Versace, on the relaunch of the Versus accessories line.
The British designer has designed a capsule collection of handbags, footwear and jewellery, which was unveiled at Milan Fashion Week yesterday. Originally begun by Donatella's late brother, Gianni Versace, in 1989, Kane has referred to his work as "tough and glamour, effervescent and rock 'n' roll."
I am, more or less, on board with the Mulberry Creased Jenah Bag. It’s on-trend in several ways - it has a chain strap, it’s a flap bag, and it’s smaller than the bags that we’ve seen in the past few seasons. It’d be a great addition to a spring wardrobe to satisfy a lot of the new bag looks in one package, theoretically. But the one thing that’s stopping me is…the color. I know that a lot of people will disagree with me, because I can see where people would think it was pretty, but I just can’t do it. Pastels (and this is basically a pastel) are not good on me. I have yellow undertones in my skin, and it’s just not a particularly lovely contrast. Also, for some reason, wearing any kind of pastel makes me feel like an enormous, 5-and-a-half-foot-tall toddler. I’m willing to admit that this is probably a hangup that only I have, but until I see it in another color (a medium-to-mustard yellow would be nice, if you’re listening, Mulberry), I’ll have to pass.

The Peek-a-boo satchel made another appearance on Fendi's Fall 2009 runway in Milan yesterday along with several new uninspired clutches including what appears to be a skunk roadkill. This saddens me... I was hopeful after seeing the peek-a-boo bags from last season and thought they'd make more fabulous bag but judging from the atrocities on the runway... it looks like business as usual at Fendi.

It’s awkward, unimpressive, and incredibly outdated. Each to his own, but is their any Bagista’s out there that would proudly sport this? It would make a great addition to your cave woman costume but other than that, I can’t picture this becoming the next IT bag.

For $154, (yup, that’s what the price tag reads), you get a pouch with drawstrings, fringe, beads, feathers and a giant tooth charm that you simply cannot miss. Wear it on the shoulder or across your body, but one thing for sure is that I can make a similar version at home for a lot less than $154! …Not that I’m looking forward to anyways.
To celebrate the opening of their new Milan concept store, Kenzo has come up with these exquisite limited edition Candy Box bags, which have all been handmade by the Kenzo atelier in Paris - now how's that for luxury?
Precious stones, flowers and luxe embroidery adorn the Bijoux bags, bringing them that added uniqueness and touch of exclusivity. Kenzo CEO James Greenfield told Vogue.co.uk: "With Antonio [Marras, Kenzo's creative director] being Sardinian, we wanted to give the Italian woman something very special and unique to celebrate the opening. Say what you want about Judith Leiber. Sure, the whole sparkly-squirrel-clutch thing is kind of weird, to say the least, and also kind of played out. They were making fun of it years ago on Sex and the City (remember the “Large Diamond Duck Ring” purse that Carrie got from Big?), and most cutting-edge fashionistas still thumb their noses at the brand in favor of things that are perceived as more subtle or modern. There’s one thing that no one can deny, however: the attention to detail paid when making a Leiber crystal-encrusted bag is second to none, and my favorite example as of late is the Judith Leiber Cresendo Bag. I didn’t even realize at first glance that the bag’s lace pattern was made entirely of crystals, but since it was a Leiber bag, I zoomed in to see if my eyes were deceiving me. And they were indeed - every bit of this intricate bag is covered in her signature Austrian crystals, creating the illusion of lace where there isn’t any. I’m a sucker for black and white patterns, and perhaps that’s why I can’t stop looking at this particular Leiber bag, even though they normally don’t catch my attention. For whatever reason, I think maybe I should give Leiber’s evening bags another look.
Speaking of fab Target collections, I have a sneaking suspicion that the Hayden-Harnett collection could be the best ever. Every bag from the collection looks fantastic. The bags hit the store on Dec 28th, so I’m going to make sure I have some money left over after all my Christmas shopping.
The above bag is the one I have my eye on for a new everyday commuting bag. I almost bought the original version from HH a few years ago when I was on the look out for a light weight bag. Now I’m glad I waited. Here’s hoping the pocket situation in the Target version is the same as the original version.

UPDATE: I just checked the Target website and the Hayden-Harnett bags are availble to order! I placed my order for the sure to be fabulous Canvas Flight tote in Purple/Gold and I threw in the Thakoon Zip Back top in Ebony/Purple for good measure so I can pretend to be Michelle Obama. I’ll probably swing by my local Queens Target after New Year’s to check out the rest of these collections in person, but I wanted to get my order for my “Must Haves” in ASAP since both collection are sure to be flying out of stores.

I was browsing the internet for handbags – as I do - and I stumbled across Matt and Nat’s Vegan Leather handbags – and I thought to myself: “Hang on? Vegan handbags?
