Louis Vuitton Travel Shopper Rider bags
I usually love any handbag that is in Pink. It can be any shape, size, and by any designer I will love it. Today, I’m not loving a certain Pink handbag and this particular handbag is actually by my ultimate favorite handbag designer. The handbag I am referring to is the Louis Vuitton Travel Shopper Rider, and I am not loving it at all. Louis Vuitton has been credited to making many beautiful and fabulous handbags but the Travel Shopper Rider looks like a walking advertisement with a hefty price. All the Travel Shopper Rider is, is a shoulder bag with “Louis Vuitton” and various Louis Vuitton locations imprinted on the bag in bold letters. What is even worse about this handbag is the price! For a handbag that is used for nothing but showing you wear a designer handbag and advertising for them it is quite expensive. Not only are you not getting paid to advertise a not so beautiful handbag, but you are paying $1,940 for it! If you have the extra cash to spare, I suppose the Louis Vuitton Travel Shopper Rider would be a lovely handbag to add to your collection. But if you want to splurge on a Louis Vuitton handbag that won’t be available for long, I would say the Travel Shopper Rider isn’t the best choice of handbags to pick.

Botkier Satin Bianca Satchel Purse
Who says a dressy bag has to be in the form of a tiny clutch? Introducing the Botkier Satin Bianca Satchel. I think what I like most about this bag is that it looks really elegant and yet it is functional at the same time. But then again, isn’t that what Monica Botkier had set out to do when she created her handbag line? Just like any other Bianca bag, the satin version comes complete with two dome-shaped zippered pockets on the front. They may not be the most attractive portion of this handbag, but they sure are convenient! I like the idea of having my keys right there where I can easily grab them. And the fact that this bag is available in dark purple is just icing on the cake! So if you’re looking for a dressy bag that will still hold a considerable amount of stuff, then the Botkier Satin Bianca Satchel may be just the ticket.
The Botkier Satin Bianca Satchel is available in Purple, Silver, or Black. It measures 14″ x 9″ x 5.5″ and it retails for $425 (admittedly, a little bit pricey for a non-leather handbag).

Handbags and shoes, what a wonderful combination. And I have to say, Mr. Louboutin tends to make me a happy camper when it comes to both categories. I’ve always dreamed of owning a pair of his shoes. In fact, I usually stop and admire his shoes any time I get a chance. And his clutches, I do still find myself drooling over the Christian Louboutin Cancan Satin Clutch. Yes, his handbags and clutches will set you back a bit, but one day, I will own one of each. As for today, I find myself wishing the Christian Louboutin Nappa Laminato Envelope Clutch will be found in my stocking on Christmas morning. How gorgeous? Unlike the Cancan Satin Clutch, this one is a little more, I guess you could say, reserved. Yet, it is downright elegant. The well thought out pleats add a little spice to the clutch while also adding a sense of sophistication and fun. And of course, open the clutch to find the signature red satin lining. The more I think about it, the more this clutch seems to boast understated exquisite taste.

I have officially met my match with the Fendi Large Patent Baguette in pink. Carrie Bradshaw, in Sex and the City, got me hooked on Fendi baguettes due to her overwhelmingly large Fendi baguette collection. I could never decide which baguette I wanted, but now I know and its the Fendi Large Patent Baguette in pink. A huge plus about the Fendi Large Patent Baguette is that it is extremely large. You can fit so much in this baguette and still have more room and you can also wear the handbag two different ways. There is a strap to wear the handbag on your shoulder, or the strap can be removed for clutch carry. I would say this handbag is perfect for the 2009 Spring season.

Most Bagista’s will agree that right now, the weather outside isn’t the best to take something colorful and delicate as a Multicolore piece for an outing. But if you live in a warm climate year-round area as I do (South Texas), everyday is a perfect day to sport the most cheerful piece in Vuitton’s collection. Issues such as denim transfers, much hardware, delicate vachetta, and being too much of an attention grabber; I never sought to add a new Multicolore piece to my collection. Louis Vuitton presents it’s fans with a couple of new additions to their infamous line, including this piece, meet the Greta. Right off the bat I like how the Greta is a shoulder bag, and sporting a single flat adjustable strap, it looks pretty comfortable to wear. Also, who new you could find so many details on a single bag including, buckles, ring décor, bands, studs, and a removable body strap! Yeah, this is no boring piece. Of course, Takashi Murakami’s infamous design is present and stunning as usual. This newbie doesn’t run cheap as it carries a $2,020 price tag. Love this piece?

Just a quick FYI for those who care and those who love the Chloe Paraty Bag! It popped up last week on NAP UK and this week on NAP USA. Seems to be sold out already. Really, do so many of you absolutely adore it? I saw it in person and it did not give me the same instant WOW factor that I yearn for. That could also be due to the fact that it was nearby the hoard of designer handbags piled on top of each other on a plastic table for the sale table at Saks. Anya Hindmarch White Wicker Chair Clutch bags
This clutch from Anya Hindmarch reminds me my childhood in Taiwan (stop scrunching your nose-- look closely at the woven leather detail-- it is unique and different from most weaves). I have fond memories of sitting on white wicker chairs while my grandmother tended to her orchids (she had a greenhouse full of the most amazing orchids). I'd wait impatiently for her to finish in order to have cookies and tea with me. I remember always having wicker print on the back of my little legs by the time she was done but I dared not complain for fear she wouldn't give me cookies! But back to the clutch, the wicker weave is made of woven calf leather strips which gives it so much depth and interesting texture. Lined in cotton and trimmed in calf leather, this is truly the perfect summer clutch for luncheons, weddings, and anything else you can think of. Available in both tan or white but I prefer the all white version. It looks crisp and refreshing, the way a summer bag should.
Kooba Ryder Tote bags
Besides being able to find a great leather shoulder bag, a plus would be having the option of choosing your bag from a variety of hues. Sure everybody loves the same ‘ole black and brown leather bags (I sure do!), but leathers don’t have to come in neutral all the time, right ladies? I always think of Balenciaga in reference to spectacular handbags with the best variety of colors, but Balenciaga isn’t the only name out there carrying colorful leather bags. Kooba for instance has these Ryder totes up for grabs at Revolve Clothing (dot com), and they look pretty functional to me. The Ryder is basically a large shoulder tote, with plenty of room for necessities, and diagonal zipper compartments accessing even more additional space. Sounds a bit complicated, but I bet it’s easier to maneuver around this tote in person. Personally, the pink Ryder is my favorite, but you can take your choice of black, brown, ocean, yellow, or the patent versions. I can’t really say much about the quality or whether Kooba handbags really hold up to their name since I’ve never owned a piece, but for a reasonable price tag of $645.

Today is all about reminiscing, I guess the end of the year will do that to you. This Gucci bag is almost identical to the first Gucci bag I owned and loved, it was this same structured hobo with the thin strap, no logo (this has the GG embossed on the leather on the lower part) but it was suede and I used it with dedication because back in those days, even though I had multiple bags, I stuck to just one. But with a bag like this, you only need one, I even went out clubbing with it and it stayed on my shoulder, at my side without falling or annoyance. The straps are adjustable so anyone can have the perfect fit and the scooped top conforms perfectly. It is also the ideal size, 15" x 10" - carries everything but the shape deceives its size so you don't look like you are actually carrying everything. I don't even mind the subtle GG embossing, the upgrades like the easy overlapping closure, adjustable and colors make up for that. Of course, I would get it in the amazing light gray blue because I am not looking for the ONE bag, but this ashy brown is the ultimate if you are looking for THE ultimate.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Patent Leather Hobo bags
The Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 Collection is here! Several styles have already hit the shelves and the rest are soon to follow. I am really excited about this collection because there is a little something for everyone. In this new collection, you’ll find some old time favorites in some very NEW colors (think jungle green, bright purple, and cherry red). There are also some completely new styles to be found, as well as some familiar-looking styles from past seasons with newly added twists. One of my personal favorites from this collection is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Patent Leather Hobo. It is sort of a mix of old and new features. Most familiar about it is the signature turnlock closure and polka dot lining. What’s new? Marc added a very unique-looking, open circle chain. At first, I wasn’t too crazy about the chain. But the more I look at it, the more it is starting to grow on me. Perhaps it is because the chain seems to compliment the shiny patent leather nicely. So if you’re interested in a somewhat familiar, yet somewhat new handbag from MBMJ, then this bag might be just right for you!
